The simplest form of making money online: Adsense!

Google AdSense is a relatively easy way for small and large web site
owners to generate revenue by displaying ads relevant to their site
content using JavaScript. Google Adsense provides you with a number of
ad formats - image or text based. Adsense is very easy to implement,
you chose your preferences, and JavaScript is then generated, you copy
and paste your source code where you would like, the Google AdSense ad
to be displayed.
You can use the same JavaScript on any of your websites or blogs.

Even though there are many processes that go on behind the scenes,
the delivery of AdSense ads is very quick - and in my opinion, very
accurate; although it can take a little while for Google to get the
"gist" of the page.
Each time the page is viewed, you receive a percentage of the amount
paid by advertisers for each click on an ad. Unlike other networks,
Google doesn't state what that percentage is, and I speculate it
varies, but it does appear to be a generous share per Adsense ad.
AdSense works by instantaneously auctioning off the available
advertising spaces on a site to various advertising companies.

Go ahead to Google.com and sign up for their Adsense program.
It is right there under “advertising programs” on the main page.
Take your time and look around a bit.
If you have not already started your Wordpress blog, then you
can go to Blogger.com and start a free blog there. (Wordpress is
more versatile, so prepare to move to that eventually). Whatever
topic you choose to write about on your blog, the ads that you
are going to place will act like a chameleon and those ads will
match that subject. (Thus (“Google AdSense”)
